I had a dream last night--the trees were whispering "nyalonyalonyalonyalone." Stupid mocking dream-trees.

Omigosh! Go see the baby mantids over at notsoswift! They are sooooooooooooo cute!
And for the men-folk:
Ha ha, just kidding. This is my version of Bad Penny, from the Spring issue of Knitty. I added waist shaping and elbow sleeves, and I'm super pleased with it.

So. I was watching the West Wing last night (noooo, Donna! I hope she is okay!), and the most bizarre commercial ever came on—a bunch of cartoon elephants, singing a reggae song about Skippy peanut butter. Has anyone else seen this? It’s so...I dunno....
But, more happily, I hear that the new issue of Bust has a one-handed read to do with knitting. My, oh, my.

Don't get paid till tomorrow, dum-tee, dum-tee, dum. I'm itching to spend money, as always happens when I'm trying to save. What's with that?
I'm reading No Idle Hands from the library right now. It's enjoyable.
PS I'm the first person to check it out since, like, 1986.

Today is Mr. Ted's birthday. Also, I quit my job. That is not his gift; it would be a stupid gift.
Thank you and goodnight.

I'm turning into a Michael Kelso. I was wrestling with a dog at lunch, and she accidentally bloodied my lip.
Hee! I love dogs.

Hurrah for Down With Pants and Death?!
My weekend was pretty much uneventful. I must say that I enjoyed the Harry Potter movie very much, silly girl that I am. And it took my mind off my knitting. Cor, fine/slick acrylic+little metal double-points (because I haven't a #4, 16"-circular)=cranky Ivy.

I'm having one of those days in which I can barely suppress the desire to loose myself from my clothes and run around in the woods, setting deadfalls and grubbing for wild onions and violet-leaf salads.

Terrible pirate jokes, courtesy of the Glitterati:
Q. Why does the pirate read Playboy?
A. For the ARRRRRRticles!
Q. Where does a pirate keep his buccaneers?
A. Under his buckin' hat!
Q. What's a pirate's favorite vegetable?
A. ARRRRRRtichokes!
Q. How much does it cost for a pirate to pierce his ears?
A. buck-an-ear (buccaneer) Yarr!
Q. What do you call a pirate who skips school?
A. Captain Hooky!
Q. What type of cookies do pirates eat?
A. Ships Ahoy!

Whoah! Them's some crocheted art, for sure! (Watch out for the wicked pop-ups.)
In other news, I am freshly back from the yarn shop. The estimated yarn amounts on my current projects were wrong-o.

PS-I knitted a tea cozy in mottled browns, Friday evening. It makes my teapot look like a rock. Camouflage! I could hide keys in there.
Docu-dramas--I heart them. I mean, they may not present a well-balanced perspective on a subject, but neither does a straight-up documentary, necessarily, right? I watched one on the Medicis this weekend (the first half, anyway); it was all, like, intrigue and art. Very good.
