PS I would kill to be the one who called from Vegas. Sigh.

Hi!

I liked the new Charlie's Angels movie, tho I'm sure Regan has her reasons for disliking it. Lots of cool clothing changes.

It's 2:30, and I haven't had a chance yet to get the correspondence under control. O well.

Cha cha cha.

Does anyone else like to torture themselves with the various passwords they create? Is it just me?

Ewwwww, knitting with mohair makes my hands itch, and then my face, and then my tummy. Good thing I only have to do this one pair of gloves in mohair for the staff project. Gonna make stripey gloves—which isn’t as good as no gloves at all, but a close second and I’m sure someone I know will be thrilled to wear them. (I’m making them to fit my big hands, since they are right here for reference, so keep that in mind if you decide to ask for these babies).

Had a horrible danged meeting at lunchtime today. They won’t let you smoke in there, so I don’t see how they can figure that it can legitimately take the place of your lunch.

Reading a really fun book right now called “The Eyre Affair”. It’s like what would happen if Ted and I wrote novels and smooshed them together. A little bit fantasy, a little bit cyberpunk, a little bit Bronte.

It's going to be a work-y-work day in the ol' office. Shoutin' out, tho. Got to.

Move On is having their primary tomorrow, yo. Go check it out.

PS Nadia and I got drunk and cut me some bangs. Aieee!

Well, thank goodness I got some sleep last night (>12 hrs.)--Miz Nads just called to let me know she's in Denver.

Also: Ontario has legalized same-sex marriage! I am so moving to Canada, where people make sense.

My word. The White Stripes are better in concert than in recordings. I can't believe it is actually possible. It was really, really hot where we were standing, and I was on the verge of passing out the last twenty minutes of the showand still I couldn’t look away. And I got to hold Ted’s hand most of the time; *happy sigh*.

Also, I am sunburned from frolicking at the beach. And also, Ben T. showed up last night, which was super fun. And also, Nadia is coming to visit.

And also, I’ve got to get some sleep sometime this week. Dude.

I cannot believe that Gregory Peck has passed on. Sigh. I was so in love with him when he played Ahab. And so in love with him in Roman Holiday.....

And it's Friday the Thirteenth, to boot. All y'all be careful out there.

Let us see. Well, I printed this out, and pasted it up by the coffee machine. Without permission (“hey, I was surfing around and found this—can I post it on the wall so that people can read it instead of working?”).

But I felt compelled to credit it. I’m afraid they’re going to trace the handwriting back to me.

heeheehee hee! (maniacal laughing.)

i am suddenly, totally manic. it could be that i am going on a trip soon. it could be that i spent my lunch hour cackling with the ladies at the newsstand about Robert Redford and suchlike on the covers of some cowboy-dude magazine. it could be that i will soon have all the aol tins in the world, courtesy of the ladies of Glitter.

it could be that I have the plot of a novel in my hot little head.

but maybe not.

New Knitty is up, plus wicked cool sock patterns.

Oof, that is a horrible blog entry. No wonder no one reads this thing.

Lemme see. I have been thinking about how to decorate this apartment, since I've decided that I'll be staying here for a bit. I think I could go extreme goth-girl, since nobody ever sees it, right? I'd have to be careful with the smokes, but I could rig up a black lace and tulle canopy for the "bed"...to go with the afghan-o-anger... No, that's not a good plan--it would clash with my stuff from Kyrghshtan. I could do felt and furs and things instead, and pretend that I live in a yurt. Put a red velvet canopy up instead.

I'm so obsessed with the canopy thing.

Actually went to see The Italian Job last night--it was a heap o fun, tho it lost momentum right at the end. Very well done, very not-reliant on the personalities of the actors themselves, which is a change of pace. Also spoke with Kate on the telephone, v. nice.

Sick last night--tried to get the ol' body re-acclimated to the meat eating (it would make my life easier, okay?) and it didn't work out. Vomiting till two. Whee! Feel like crap now.

On the other hand, I'm the only person in the office today, which means I don't have to pretend to be feeling alright.

I think Regan needs to post to her blog. What are you doing, Regan?!

Goin' to a Stitch 'n' Bitch tonight. Had Rolaids for lunch. It's raining.

Tuesday, June 03, 2003

You are the unreasonable one.

Thingity, thingity, thing.

I am in a better mood than I have been in in a bit. Going to go see “The Italian Job” tonight—Edward Norton is dreamy! Sigh.

Watched the first episode ever of Everwood last night, which was lovely. Poor, sad, lonely kid from New York who has moved to Colorado, I get you!

Also went for a longish run/limp around the neighborhood. It felt really good—the air had cooled off a bunch for a change. And I cannot get over people’s roses around here. They look like the ones in fairy-tales—the plants are super-bushy and green and uneaten, and the flowers are so abundant. I considered picking one from an enormous planting—but thought better of it, since it was dark, and who could say which was the beast’s favorite bush.

Howdy, howdy, you all.

I push the pictures into the archives, sweep, sweep, sweep....

Have worked my arse off all day--and I'm wondering if maybe I need to hightail it out of this life. I'm tired and bored. I added to my yarn stash and everything, sorting out for discontinueds, but it failed to move me.
